Between Wind and Stone - Monte San Lorenzo

- 2 min read
This session felt different from the beginning.
Dalila Ibba joined us again with the harp, and the combination with the open landscape created something unusually clear and direct.
The Place
We recorded this session on the slopes of Monte San Lorenzo, near Nulvi in northern Sardinia.
An elevated area with wide exposure, open views and traces of ancient Nuragic structures scattered across the landscape.
From the higher points, the view extends toward the sea and the island of Asinara.
The terrain is shaped by wind. Constant movement in the air, very little protection.
The Conditions
The day of the recording was clear and sunny, but very windy.
Not ideal conditions in a technical sense, but part of the place.
Instead of trying to control it, we worked with it.
The Session
Pasquale positioned on one side with the bowls, Dalila on the other with the harp.
Between them, open landscape.
The spatial separation made the structure of the sound very clear.
The harp moves lightly through the space, while the bowls provide a stable and grounded layer.
Even with the wind, the sound remains coherent.
It does not feel isolated. It connects with the surroundings.
Sound
This session stands out for its clarity.
Not in the sense of perfection, but in how directly the sound translates through the space.
It works even without context.
Not only as a sound bath, but as a listening experience in itself.
Location Context
The area around Monte San Lorenzo contains several Nuragic remains.
These structures are often placed on elevated points, positions that interact strongly with wind, visibility and terrain.
The combination of height, stone and exposure creates a very specific acoustic environment.
What Comes Next
We captured several moments from this session.
The full video is currently in production.
