Sound Bath at the Tomba dei Giganti di Pascaredda, Sardinia

This session was recorded near Calangianus, in the Gallura region of northern Sardinia.

This time, joined by Mario Uda and his didgeridoo.

The Tomba dei Giganti di Pascaredda is a megalithic site built from local granite, allegedly dating back to the Middle Bronze Age. The semicircular exedra at the entrance was once a place of ritual. A threshold. A space where the living gathered in relation to those no longer present.

Something of that intention is still present in the stone.

We recorded among cork oaks. The air still. The light falling through the branches.

There is a particular quality to this place.

Not something you need to interpret.

Something you feel.

The Session

This sound bath brings together crystal singing bowls and didgeridoo.

Didgeridoo by Mario Uda.

The didgeridoo works in the lowest frequencies. Vibrations that move through the ground, through the body, before they reach the ears.

The bowls carry a different quality. Pure. Sustained. High and clear above the depth.

The two do not contrast.

They complete.

The didgeridoo establishes the ground. The bowls open the space above it. Between the two, something settles.

Sound and Stone

Ancient sites change how sound behaves.

The sound does not simply travel. It lands differently. It stays.

You don't only hear the instruments.

You hear the place receiving them.

Coming Soon

The full session will be released at the end of June.

Until then, a few impressions from the day.
